Portal Pack 2.0 for NetBeans 6.1 


         This zip archive contains following plugin modules
    1. Generic Portlet - Plugin to create JSR 168/JSR 286 based generic portlet applications.
    2. Portal Server Integration Framework - Base framework library for portal server integration.
    3. Osportletcontainer - Plugin to integrate OpenPortal Portlet Container
    4. Visual Portlet Builder - This module enables Portlet developers to rapidly build JSF based portlet application
      in NetBeans IDE by dragging and dropping components on the WYSIWYG Visual Editor.This module is dependent on
      "Generic Portlet" and "JSF Portlet Bridge Library" modules.
    5. JSF Portlet Bridge Library - This library module is required by "Visual Portlet Builder" module.
        (This is an optional plug-in, can be installed along with other plug-ins available in the above zip archive. 
It requires some of the nbm files available in the above zip archive)
This plug-in provides portlet development and deployment support on  the WebSynergy Server. It requires "Generic Portlet" 
& "Portal Server Integration Framework" modules which are part of the above zip file. This plug-in also works with the
Liferay Portal Server running on the Glassfish Application Server.

Project WebSynergy also support Cross-Platform Inter-Widget communications and using Portal Pack's Story Board, user
can easily develop inter-communicating widgets without understanding the underlying details. To use this feature,download
this Generic Portlet Builder nigtly build . You need to install this nightly build with other required Portal Pack 2.0

Changes in Portal Pack 2.0

In this version there is no separate project type for the Portlet Application. Portal Pack 2.0 supports Portlets through web framework. So a "Portlet Support"
web framework can be added to an existing/new web application. For more information click here.

Please follow below mentioned steps to install Portal Pack plugins in Netbeans 6 M9  IDE
  1. Download the zip file for the Portal Pack Plugins.
  2. Unzip the downloaded zip file to a directory.
  3. Start the NetBeans IDE 6.1.
  4. Go to Tools > Plugins
  5. Click on "Downloaded" tab
  6. Click "Add Plugins" Button
  7. Add/Select all extracted *.nbm files and follow the
    instructions to install portal pack plugins.
